The plan was always to extend and refurbish our home. We loved the location but the property was in a state of disrepair which needed attention.
First we found a local architect who knew the area well. Jameson helped us to design the changes to be in keeping of the original house. We had specific requirements which were addressed well.
We wanted to extend the house to create more family space downstairs.
The new kitchen, dining room and lounge would all be in the extension. The existing downstairs build would house the existing study, lounge which would be repurposed to be a library - yep we love books - the ones you can touch and smell!
With the area left we wanted to create a coat and shoe room and a downstairs bathroom.
The entrance to the house would be opened up with double doors in a new porch.
Upstairs we wanted to create 5 bedrooms. Four of these to have en-suite shower rooms, the master with a vaulted ceiling and dressing room.
Sitting centrally on the floor would be a family bathroom with bath tub and shower.
We also planned for our daughters room to have a dressing room.
Each of the bedrooms facing the back garden would have large patio windows to let in as much light as possible. The flat roof of the kitchen extension would also be in view on which we planned to install a sedum roof.
